So I've had my ImPress Manicure on for a couple of days now. I received this product for free from Influenster and I had my doubts. Two days later though I've received a lot of compliments and they've held firm.
Some things I didn't expect them to last through:
1. An entire day of typing at work.
2. Bath time with my son.
3. Picking fuzz out of velcro in my son's shoes
4. Washing dishes
However, they've won me over!
I love that this was SO easy to do. I'm really glad that they suggested putting the thumb nails on LAST. My other tip would be to sort out all of the sizes before you start so you make sure you're getting the best fit possible.
I think I'll be getting these the next time I go out!
I've been happily married to my very own Geek since July of 2009 but sometimes we see things a little differently.

imPress nails
So I tried these new artificial nails today called imPress courtesy of Influenster and I'm really not quite sure what I think. It took me awhile to figure out how to put them on and once I started putting them on it got progressively harder to put them on as I had more and more artificial nails. I tried the "fancy" version first....I'm not entirely sure they're me but I'll leave them on and see. I will say that they seem to be holding really well and that they don't look overly fake. Am I an artificial nail type of girl? I guess I'll see....they pass the type test though!

And a Geekling Makes Three
So I've been on a major blogging hiatus because I'm now also a future geek's mom! It's hard to believe that I am now a mommy to a one year old little geekling. It's also hard to believe that I haven't written anything on here in quite awhile. I have however been a regular contributor at ModernMama which you should absolutely check out.
Parenthood hasn't changed things around here too much however. I honestly think that all geeks are really just kids at heart. While my husband was a little out of his element with a newborn he is slowly discovering a whole new outlet for his geeky enthusiasm.
It started a few months ago when our son rolled his first critical hit on my husband's large plush D20. I could practically hear the wheels in his head turning as he created our sons very first D&D game in his head. Since then he has discovered a whole new wealth of geeky toys and books for our son, some of which I have had to veto for the moment. While it MIGHT be cool, Lego is NOT exactly an appropriate toy for a 12 month old. Also, I'm pretty sure that while my son did nod when his daddy asked if he wanted to be a gamer (it was frightening...) and recently even grasped the controller correctly (with no coaxing), that that much screen time just isn't healthy for him yet.
In any case I hope to be coming back here more often now that our son is becoming a bit more independent and will happily "read" his Star Wars ABC book to himself or anyone who might be listening.
